Jeramy is a consummate professional - an excellent builder and contractor, who takes great pride in his work, is pleasant in his interactions, and is a man of his word. Jeramy (and his then-partner, Josh) did a major renovation of our condo in Brookline. They worked with us from the beginning on defining our budget, developing an overall schedule, and ultimately executing the work brilliantly. Jeramy not only stayed exactly on schedule, he also finished the job absolutely on budget. For a large scale renovation, it was remarkable that we exceeded our budget by 1%, and that was only after Jeramy asked if we wanted to do a minor change/upgrade in a room that we had forgotten to budget for floor molding. Jeramy takes great pride in his work, and on many occasions he worked extremely hard to ensure small details were properly addressed. In one case, he spent nearly a full day working on framing one particular window; the sagging of wood over a hundred years created a window frame without one single straight line on it. As always, Jeramy was up to the task and created a framed masterpiece around the window. Our other favorite Jeramy story related to kitchen cabinets. Because we were renovating an old Boston brownstone, all of the walls and ceilings were curved. And unfortunately, when we received our kitchen cabinets, despite having measured very carefully, one section of the kitchen was more rounded than we knew, and the cabinets simply didn't fit the space. Jeramy called me at work to tell me the bad news - that they would have to order new cabinets, it would likely take a month or two to get the new ones in, and worst of all, the cabinets could not be tightly fit into that space, so we'd lose several inches of cabinets space with filler. A death knell for small Boston kitchens. So, I said I'd come over after work to consult with him on next steps. To my astonishment, when I arrived that evening, all the kitchen cabinets were neatly and beautifully installed. Shocked, i asked what happened, and Jeramy explained that they were only about 1/8 inch off for the cabinets. So, between the time he called me and the end of the day, Jeramy and team cut out the drywall next to the cabinets, replaced it with a thinner version on both sides, they taped and finished the wall, then hung the cabinets in the extra fraction of space that was created by his ingenuity. I was simply blown away - that he did it of his own accord, that it was done the same day, and that everything looked perfect, was really a sign of extraordinary skill and dedication. Yet another testimony to his skill as general contractor - toward the end of the project, Jeramy, who served as the general contractor, told us that the electrician was demanding more money for his work. According to the sub-contractor he put in more than was requested, and it took him considerably longer to complete. Jeramy stood behind us 100% of the way - he was the general contractor and he had agreed with the electrician in advance on the price. So, the work got done without any additional payments from us, and we greatly appreciated him sticking to his principles. Several years after the renovation was complete, we were about 2 days away from listing our home for sale (as we were moving cross-country), when we spotted a leak in the ceiling. Jeramy had not dealt at all with our roof, but he nevertheless came over within less than a day of when we called, figured out the problematic area, and installed some small flashing to seal the leak. He didn't charge us for the work, and wouldn't accept payment. It was truly a kind gesture, and a great indication of the kind of person he is. We would use him again in a heartbeat, and we stronly recommend him for anyone considering a significant renovation (or presumably a new construction project).
