Shannon Walsh used to post a lot of pics of her work, don't see so many pics from her anymore so I don't know if she is actively working in a shop, but they were great, as a freehand artist she was excellent as well, and just a cool person over all. Chris at Atlantis Body Art in Milford did my one professional(in a shop) tattoo and it looks like he might still be in business, his work was great too. Made sure the person (me at the time) he was working on got his full attention and told some bitchy girls that were being pushed back because of my tatt to blow off cause he wouldn't rush my tatt anymore than he was going to rush theirs. So even though I don't know him, he had the kind of work ethic you'd want from your artist. If you don't mind going just a little past NY, my fiancee's guy/shop in West Milford, NJ (on the NY/NJ border) did a bunch of tatts for her and her brother/siste (8 total) and they all look great.
