  You have to go to Xel ha! It is so fun! They have the best snorkeling. Its great for kids! You can book it with whatever hotel you are staying at and they will pick you up in the morning and drop you off at dinner time. But there is so much to do there. Lazy river, cliff jumping, zip lining, obstacle course and lots of other thing you can pay extra to do like scuba diving. http://www.xelha.com/ I stayed by Playa Del Carmen. So can't give much advice on beaches other then the one in playa was nice!

  If you're sporty then definitely Xel-ha. Just up the coast. Thompson charge quite a bit but check across the road and also cab (or bus) prices and pay on the door. It's about 45 mins down the coastal road. Look at entrance prices on the website before you go, www.xelha.com
