We're looking for recommendations for a good agent and also a good mortgage broker to get us a good rate. We've decided to buy so don't bother commenting on how we shouldn't. Also, we've decided to use an agent to help us buy so don't bother trying to convince us out of that. I'd be nice to have an agent who doesn't force us to sign a contract to commit to them - as a first time home buyer this sounds incredibly limiting, but if the industry operates that way then I guess we have no choice.   My agent Matt Love was great, he specializes in the westboro/hintonburg/mechanicsville area, but we ended up buying in Craig Henry. He spent years flipping houses and doing renos so he has a great eye for what needs to be done in a house, and what to watch out for. http://www.mattlove.ca/
