About us

I am a natural light photographer and specialize in families, and children. However, I also do engagement, bridal, wedding, newborn, senior, pet, and maternity sessions as well.

I use nature as my backdrops, and seasonal props as well. I started photography in November 2013 (starting with my children) and have learned so much along the way! I am still learning daily, and take pride in how far I have come (all self taught)!!

REFUND POLICY
*All sales are final (NO REFUNDS) - in the event a cancellation is needed, the session can be booked for a later time/day, or a gift card for the total amount paid will be issued.

My name is Chelsea Bedient and I want to let everyone know about my experience, especially families with infants! There are so many unprofessional things oozing from Staci Loveland that I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with my newborn son; Back in Late February of 2015 I was searching for a "professional" photographer to photograph my brand new son. I had posted on a local forum asking for references. Staci herself had replied claiming she was a "professional" and that she could photograph my newborn son for $100.00. She claimed she had a studio and knew exactly what she was doing. I trusted her and met with her at her home on Michelle Dr. in south Yuba City. When I arrived I was quite shocked to see that she did not have a professional photography studio. She was conducting the session in her living room with a 'table' and a pole with some hideous backdrops. At that point my husband and I were already there and proceeded with the photo shoot. Before the photo shoot my grandmother had made me some cute knit outfits for my 4 day old infant son to wear. I had ideas in my head and explained my ideas to her and she blew them off and claimed she didn't want to fuss with anything else and suggested we do what she had in mind instead. What a let down! My son didn't get to wear one of the outfits, and the outfit that he did get to semi-wear, (a knit cowboy hat, knit cowboy boots and chaps) BUT...She didn't put the chaps nor the boots on him and set them beside him in the hideous basket she not-so-gently placed him in. That is obviously not what I wanted and I made that clear to her that day. Her excuse was, "I don't want to upset him or move him, he will just fuss!". (DUH! Baby's fuss!!!!). She acted as if her JOB was a CHORE! She was extremely lazy and didn't have a creative bone in her body! When she did move him to another one of her ugly props she placed my son in an awkward position without a spotter and allowed him to hit his head fairly hard when she turned her back to grab her camera. His head dropped and slammed against a wooden prop!!!!! I held my breath and my composure and my husband handled the baby while he screamed for a solid 10 minutes before we could calm him. He had a welt on his head that was bright red. Instead of apologizing and handling the situation like a concerned adult, she instead said, "ooooooooops" in a childish voice. She even laughed. I wanted to choke her! Might I add that she was attempting to pose my son on a table with a wooden rocking horse staged on top of it without a spotter? She literally expected my son to stay safely on the horse, on the table without a spotter. Are you kidding me? This woman is nuts! My husband intervened and said "that's not going to work!" He refused to allow her to attempt it. When we asked to help with posing for his safety she disregarded our request COMPLETELY! This woman had no safety in mind for my infant son. I soon realized she was not a professional and I then feared what the photos would look like. When my photos were ready in a week she told me to pick them up on her porch, which I thought was odd for a woman who claims she's running a business in a "photography studio". I picked up my cd and immediately had them printed. The clerk didn't ask for a release and asked if I had taken them. I told him that a professional photographer had taken them. He actually laughed and said, "those aren't of professional quality!" When I saw them I was embarrassed to show them to anyone. They were so horrible I actually cried! They were blurry, over exposed, the contrast, saturation and colors were off, some were muddy and the all around composition was so awful that a 5 year old could have done a better job! My experience with her was my first experience with photography and I almost didn't want to attempt a second shoot elsewhere with my son, out of fear that it would turn out the same. Staci also wrote me a message after the shoot asking me to leave her a "great" review. I thought it was odd that a business would ask me for a "great" review!?!? Isn't that something your customers do on their own? I would think so. As for Staci not handling my baby appropriately and safely I highly recommend that no one use her for your infant or small child. She is 100% reckless and WILL put your child in immediate danger. She never once acted like she was sorry for what she did! She is so careless!! As for my son, he is 3 months old now and is fine. I did take him to another photographer who treated me with the utmost respect, welcomed me into her studio, safely posed my son and photographed him exceptionally. I viewed those photos the same day strait out of her camera, and wow! What a difference! No editing and absolutely perfect!! And my son didn't leave with an injury! Please don't use Staci Loveland Photography. Her work is garbage and she is a disgrace to the art form. It is a complete waste of money. Save your money and do your research. Cheap photography does not always mean better photography. In my opinion it's better to have quality than to have a bunch of photos that look like garbage. Unfortunately I cannot reverse time and capture the moments I lost of my sons fleeting newborn stage. Don't make the same mistake I did! One more thing I would like to add, she posts slanderous, heinous and hateful things about other local photographers. It is a complete turn off and unprofessional. She is hateful! I will NEVER use her again and I will NEVER recommend her to anyone! Not even strangers!
