Who is Kathleen Pearson-Brock?
I could go into all kinds of detail to present a bio or even a resume on this outstanding artist, but I'm not going to because I've come to believe that every great artist is recognizable in the output of their work.
If you want to know who she is, spend time in front of her tremendous array of work. Look at the incredible, original content of her expressions. You will feel the emotions even in the inanimate objects such as ocean waves breaking in gigantic rolling, cresting movements.
What is Living Art?
Kathleen does not work by copying photographs. She studies her subject when she needs to, but in the case of her Jesus drawings, they are imaginings entirely as she spends inner thought invoking the scene she believes really happened. The same is true for the variety of animals she creates in such an abundance of expressive forms. She's not copying anything. She's examining the essence of the animal or object inside her own being, using techniques she's developed entirely on her own. She renders her works on canvases prepared by her husband, Jimmy Brock, who absolutely loves her, defends her and watches out for her. He's happiest, incidentally, when she's doing her art.
Kathleen is also a mother, who loves her children with everything inside her. It was her youngest son, Hunter, who tapped into the spirit of what she creates by giving us the name for this website: Living Tones. Thank you, young man. We're proud to have you on our team!
