  Does anyone out there know someone in fireplace maintenance? Can't build fires anymore, too much smoke coming back in the house. The company that does my chimney sweeps were not helpful. Said I removed tree branches from above the house over summer and it changed draft and I'm basically screwed. Thanks. Gina Romano

  Our chimney sweep recommends using a hairdryer pointed up the flue for a few minutes to engage the draft thoroughly, then check with a blown out match to make sure the smoke is moving up. Then light immediately. Seems to help us ensure the airflow is strong.
