Our nanny isn’t available all the time and I was just very, very lucky to get her yesterday. Where can I find affordable occasional care where I only need one day of daycare for both boys without booking more than a day in advance? We had a lot in Melbourne but I haven’t found one here yet. Please help!

They can help care for the your 13 month old until you can find another childcare that suits you and your family. You also have lots of different options that way as well, you have complete control of who you hire during that period. You also have the advantage of negotiating wages as well. Hope that helps xx

A nanny solely cares for children with minor domestic tasks (mostly tidying after the children and washing dishes). The main focus is the child's care and preparing meals for the children. You may be able to get a young, relatively inexperienced nanny to be a 'mothers help'. But you would still be looking at $25 per hour. I would have a look on 'We Need A Nanny', Gumtree and 'Findababysitter.com'. That is where you will find a lot of uni students and young nannies. Good luck!

I looked at her experience and what she wanted to do long term. Overall she has been absolutely amazing. I pay her 23 hr but she is a contractor so she has to organise her super and tax. It was very very hard for me to trust someone with my kids but I think you can tell by the way they interact and how much confidence they have.
