My goal is to use my skills and equipment to create beautiful art of you and your loved ones, leaving you with 'frozen moments in time' you will share and treasure. Professional, high-quality photography requires the experienced skills to properly manipulate lighting, framing and exposure to craft a remarkable photograph, and the creativity and ease with people to stage the proper mood. And it should be fun. Your true joy will shine through and make for the most amazing portraits, so enjoy yourself during the shoot.
MASTERED EDITS
I invest a substantial amount of time to mold each edited image into a stunning portrait for you. My mastered edits involve far more than erasing pimples or stray hairs. Using professional-grade software, I strive to create a mood full of life to enhance and mold the image into a portrait you will share and display for years. If there is a particular style or feeling you're looking for, I am happy to entertain any reasonable requests - I want you to be delighted with your portraits.
COPYRIGHT LICENSE
I will be signing a copyright release entitling you to copy and print the digital images on your disc that you have purchased from me. If you take images you have not paid for, i.e. copying them off my Facebook page, you are committing copyright violations, and stealing from me. I ask you to treat me with the same respect I treat you.
Even when you purchase your images and master edits from me, I remain the copyright holder, and have the right to use those images in any way I see fit, whether that be in marketing, portfolios or any other means. I can’t advertise my work and generate new business if I can’t show examples of what I can do. If for some reason you do not want your pictures used, I will remove them from public use and display for a fee of $25.
FACEBOOK POSTS
While I am granting you license to reproduce and print when you purchase my pictures,... show more please don’t print the files posted on Facebook. It does a disservice to both of us. Since Facebook reduces the quality of the pictures about 90% to make the file small, that means any images printed off of Facebook will only be about 1/10 as beautiful as they would be if the whole file was used. That means you get a print that pales in comparison to how stunning it should be, and is unfair to me as that is not an accurate representation of my work. The pictures on your disc will be 10x better than on Facebook, so be sure you print off of the disc.
TIMING
Photography is art, and art takes time. I do my best to squeeze everyone into my schedule who wants me to memorialize their memories, and I then spend hours editing each session to create the art you will love. I can easily spend 30-45 minutes PER IMAGE while editing. As a result, it will be 2-3 weeks after you give me your edit list before your disc is ready.
I know you're eager to see them, so I will do everything in my power to email you within 24 hours to verify that I have uploaded and confirmed your images turned out, and to post your pictures on Flicker within 3-4 days of the shoot, so you can choose which ones you want edited. The photos on Flicker will be watermarked and reduced to only 10% of the true quality. If you need an image quicker than that, i.e. for a gift for a party in a week, I will accommodate you as my schedule allows for $10 per image.
I always post lists in the Info section of Red Photography by Michelle’s Facebook page of which edits are in the queue. I do that so I can focus my time completing more edits rather than answering numerous emails updating my clients on the progress. Please use those posts as your guide to what I'm working on, so I can get your finished portraits to you more quickly.
I know you will love your portraits when they're done, so please be patient while I diligently work to craft them for you.
SHOOTS
A photo shoot is a time to laugh, enjoy yourself, and appreciate this experience with your family. All those emotions will show in your photos, making the images you’ll want to display and remember forever, so make sure you bring your joy! There are no reshoots because you didn’t style your hair right or your children were grumpy, so be prepared and ready at the start of the shoot to capture wonderful “frozen moments in time”.
I normally have several shoots scheduled per day, so if you schedule an hour shoot at 2 pm, the shoot ends at 3 pm. If you’re planning on clothing or location changes, or know your child takes awhile to warm up, be sure you schedule the appropriate shoot length. Clothing and prop changes, coaxing and calming are all your privilege, but the time allowed for the shoot is firm.
PACKAGES
Please schedule your shoot by contacting me through any of the contact information I have provided. A $20 deposit is required within 48 hours of booking or 48 hours prior to the shoot, whichever comes first, or else that booking will be reassigned. This deposit is nonrefundable and will be applied towards the cost of your package.
I offer a variety of packages to my clients, featuring different shoot lengths and amount of included images and mastered edits. No matter which package you choose, I grant you license to print, copy, post online (or wallpaper with!) all portraits on your disc.
