This is going to be long but I am going to share my entire experience with CQ Photography; this review has been a long time coming... I learned about CQ Photography through a friend. I saw some great pics on FB that Emmaleigh had taken and was very impressed with her work and prices. I contacted Emmaleigh in July of 2014 and told her that I was interested in scheduling family pics for October after my 3rd child was born. I let her know that at that point I would have a 2 year old, a 1 year old, and a newborn so I needed a special person to take our pictures. She seemed really excited about it and we scheduled to have our pics taken in October. After our baby was born, I contacted Emmaleigh to make sure we were still good to have our pictures taken on our scheduled date and she confirmed. I asked her for the address of where our shoot would take place and she told me to text her the next week and to ask. I did so and she told me to text her the next day to ask. I did so and she told me again to text her the next day. This happened several times which was annoying; if she didn't want to tell me until the day before, she could have said so. Also at this time, she tried to get me to reschedule our pictures for the Saturday of the week instead of the Thursday they were scheduled on. I told her this would not be possible because my husband is only off on Thursdays, not Saturdays. She said that was fine. She tried several more times to get me to change the day of the week and every time I explained to her that my husband was only available on Thursdays and she said it was fine. (Once again, we had scheduled for a Thursday in October back in JULY and I was very clear back when I first scheduled with her that Thursday was the only day of the week that would work for us.) She finally gave us the address to where we needed to go and confirmed that we would stick with our orignally scheduled date and time. Then the day of the photo shoot while we were already on our way to the shoot (we live about 45 minutes away), she texted me and said she was pushing back the time by half an hour. She then showed up another HALF HOUR after the time she said she would be there (which meant my family had to wait for over an hour for her to show up while trying to keep a 2 year old, 1 year old, and 3 week old happy and camera ready). My husband and I had discussed all of these aggravations and agreed that the only way we would ever use her as a photographer again was if she just blew us off our feet during the session and when we got the actual pictures. Now for the good part of the review: Emmaleigh was AMAZING during the photo shoot. She did an incredible job making my kids laugh and look at the camera and have a great time during the shoot. I know it is no easy task to get 3 kids to cooperate with picture taking (especially when they are all under the age of 3) and she really did a fantastic job during the photo shoot. At this point, I was willing to forgive all of the previous aggravations we had had with her. She promised she would send us our link with the finished pictures in 3-4 weeks. I hadn't heard anything from her after 4 weeks so I messaged her asking about the pictures and she said it would be 2 more weeks before we got our pictures. This was again frustrating, of course, especially since I was hoping to use the pictures to make Christmas gifts and cards the new date was really pushing it to get those things done, but there wasn't really anything I could do. Unfortunately, Emmaleigh's house ended up burning down and we never got our pictures. (I, of course, in no way blame her for this; the only frustration there is that if she had had our pictures back to us within the promised time frame all of our future frustrations with her could have been avoided.) Emmaleigh offered everybody who lost their pictures in the fire the option of having a reshoot or getting a half refund. We chose to do the reshoot. I messaged her after she started taking pictures again and asked her if we needed to schedule it within a certain time frame. She said it would be best to wait until fall when she was more back in the groove with taking pictures so I agreed. I contacted her in August to schedule for a Thursday in September. We chose a date. The day of the photo shoot came. Three hours before the shoot, I got a message from her assistant saying that Emmaleigh said she needed to reschedule but that she had no idea why and she told me she would contact me later that evening to reschedule. I never heard back from her so I contacted her asking if the next Thursday would work and she said that was fine. I contacted CQ Photography the day before to confirm we were still on and she confirmed. We got to the shoot (now with a 3 yr old, 2 yr old, and 11 month old) and started waiting. And waiting. And waiting. I called Emmaleigh several times but got no answer. I left 1 voicemail but then her voicemail was full. I texted her. I messaged the FB page. Finally after we had been waiting for an hour, her assistant finally messaged back and said that she didn't know where Emmaleigh was and why she wasn't at the shoot but that we should just go ahead and leave. The next day I messaged several times with both Emmaleigh and her assistant. Emmaleigh blamed her assistant for the no-show; her assistant blamed Emmaleigh and I was just in the middle of this blame game. Emmaleigh offered to edit the images from our sneak peek in 2014 as an apology for not showing up to the shoot. She also asked me if I would like to reschedule or get the half refund that was offered to all of the customers that lost their pics in the fire. I decided that I was not interested in wasting any more time attempting to get our pictures taken by this woman and opted for the half refund. This was back in September of 2015 that she promised me a half refund. It is now February 10, 2016 and there is no refund in sight. I have texted with Emmaleigh on multiple occasions and there's always a new excuse as to why she has not sent it yet. I have offered to meet up with her or come to her to get it and she agrees and then doesn't follow through on that either. She has not responded to my most recent texts. I have been extremely disappointed in CQ Photography. Emmaleigh was great during the photo shoot but is EXTREMELY unprofessional on the business side of things. It is definitely not worth the time and frustration to try to get your pictures taken by her or to receive the pictures if you are lucky enough to have them taken. I see from some other reviews that I am not the only person to have this type of experience with her. If you're looking for a great photographer who can be trusted and is a true professional, keep looking.

Horrible Business Ethics !My wife and I had purchased the Birth/Maternity /Newborn package along with the CD and prints for around $900. When it came to scheduling the sessions, Emmaleaigh would never follow up with us. We would have to CALL HER every time to confirm the session dates and times to make sure we would still be doing the shoot because of weather only to get a voicemail (Irritating) and on top of that she would be late to all of our sessions every time. When my wife had asked her about it to which she'd just reply “That’s just how I work”. We then waited about 2 weeks for our pictures before calling her to ask about them and she would say that she hadn't gotten to them yet. Well unfortunately now our photos were lost in a fire that happened at her house. All those precious memories of our newborn son lost. She didn’t offer any kind of reimbursement for the lost photos. Well since we can never get those memories back and never received any product, Emmaleaigh had agreed to give us a refund. After waiting for about a month and half of not receiving anything, we call her up to find out what is going on. She kept giving us one excuse after another over the course of the next 4 months till finally she decided that she was just going to blow us off and had no intention of paying us at all. NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN !!! The thing that really bothered us, besides not getting our money back was the fact that this person had lied to us continuously while we were still giving her the benefit of a doubt. Emmaleaigh, I would like too personally say thank you for killing the small amount of trust that one person can place in another. Lord knows there aren’t enough people like you in this world. I wish this review may bring you some insight about having a better business sense and that if you can’t deliver what you promise; you need repay the person back, LIKE AN ACTUAL BUISNESS DOES!!! And you can rest assured that I will be letting people know that they should not do business with you. My only hope is that you teach your children better than this so that when they grow-up and are faced with a similar situation, they know to do the right thing. God Bless!!

The photos look pretty good, but Emmaleigh is very unprofessional, and you never know when or if you will receive all your photos. She was frequently late, difficult to get in contact with, and did not deliver what was promised in contract. BEWARE.
