  I opened my beauty salon in May this year, its my first business venture with a premises involved. I think I could benefit from the advice of a business mentor. Does anyone know a business mentor that is available? One that has links with the health and beauty sector preferably? Not quite sure where to look, either for free or paid for mentorship schemes. Any help greatly appreciated. Also - how do other business owners stay positive when they are dealing with ups and downs of running their own business?

  Ah, Kerry. I feel your pain. It's a tough environment for any start up business in the early stages. As a business consultant myself ( find me here -https://www.facebook.com/pages/Project-GROW-Business-Advice-guidance-brokerage-and-grants/172618769441252?ref=hl) I have set up a few businesses and helped a number of others locally to find their feet - I own Ell's Kitchen and I khow how tough it was getting it established and *up there* in terms of recognition and popularity. However, It has been a huge success - the results of which I am constantly being asked to share with other new start ups. In fact, that is now where I spend most of my time - advising others on how to succeed as I have. I see you have already been offered a number of options/people to chat to - but if you're still looking for a sounding board from someone who has been there and done that, then do get in touch.
