  Are there any local services to help Luling residents pay utilities? Tried to get an extension for the electric from the 20th to the 24th of this month but didn't qualify. We've been trying so hard to play catch up after my husband lost the job that moved us to the area in July, only to have one thing after another hold us back. I've applied for assistance only to be told that our household of 5 has an income level too high to receive. I guarantee if they took past due bills into consideration, we'd more than qualify...as I'm sure half of the United States. And yet the government has no problem supporting illegals and lawbreakers survive :-( Anyway, I have 3 beautiful young girls, one special needs, and they're the ONLY reason I'm reaching out publicly. If it were only my husband and I, we'd survive without power...any information, assistance or direction would be welcomed. TIA

  You are welcome to go by the center at 1808 w San Antonio St to pick up an application. On the application there are documentation you will need to bring in. You can also go on line at communityaction.com and get an application from there. There is a waiting list. You have a 50/50 chance getting by completing an app and bringing in the documentation. Doing nothing you have a 0 percent chance to get in. You can Google licence reports to see all inspections.
