  Has anyone had success with any "alternative" providers treating ear infections in children? I.e. chiropractors, naturopaths etc.? My son is being follower by Children's ENT, but despite multiple traditional treatments (antibiotics orally, by injections, ear drops; ear tubes inserted) he has not had once been totally cleared from an ear infection since the beginning of December. I am looking for specific provider recommendations, not just generalized idea of a specialty. Thanks!

  I recommend Dr. Trina Seligman, an integrative doctor (utilizes both naturopathic and allopathic approaches), please see www.eimed.com. She treated me successfully for a sinus infection infection last year that did not clear after 4 rounds of broad spectrum antibiotics over 4 months - and I was able to avoid sinus surgery. A large percentage of non-clearing infections have fungal components that must be treated in addition to bacterial and/or viral. It's vital to get the correct diagnosis for your son; allopathic doctors typically don't test or treat fungal infections. Best of luck to you and your family!
