  Just a warning about Idaho.... It has a gap. Idaho is not on Obamacare. It has it's own exchange. So, depending on how many people are in your family, and how much money you earn you may fall between the gaps. For example, I have a family of 5, and I have to make a minimum of $36,000 a year to get the tax credit for affordable insurance (I am a type 1 diabetic.) If I make less than I think it is $500 a month I could get on Medicaid, but anything in between there is no tax credit, or Medicaid options for adults. If you try to get on insurance through https://www.yourhealthidaho.org/ Select Health Silver Plans are the best and most affordable especially if you get a tax credit.

  talk to an insurance agent or enrollment counselor (you can find their addresses and phone number through yourhealthidaho.org) you can apply for tax credit an that would help pay for monthly insurance cost (ny friend did that and his insurance is only $15 a month)

  Your health Idaho and the insurance provider are two separate things. If you want an income based price, then you have to fill out the income based link on your health Idaho. Then they will tell you how much they will "give you" every month towards health insurance. And they give you plan options and provider options- whether it's blue cross or select health. So what I did was see what I qualified for- looked at the plan options and called Blue Cross to clarify the details of the plan. It is definitely worth getting the tax credit through your health Idaho. We have a $510/month plan through blue cross and because of the tax credit from Your Health Idaho, we pay less than $100. Basically what I'm saying is- going through the steps and seeing what you qualify for on their site doesn't "sign you up" for anything. You see it, see your options, then go from there if you want more info.

  If you go through your health Idaho. Click on the link agent near you. There is a quite a few. I'm using a man named Stanley Dean. Very knowledgeable. I know he can give you some great options.

  Please recommend a cheap and hopefully good insurance. I am a student at BYU-Idaho where as of September 14th the student health plan will no longer be considered insurance under acta. This means that I need to either find real insurance or get hit with the penalty, or die. Anyone able to recommend a good insurance for a T1? I am currently on Humalog and Lantus, and at 300 a box, life without insurance might prove problematic.

  Just popping on Facebook tonight to ask for recommendations for really cheap health insurance for me and my husband. I currently have no health insurance and my husband has it through BYUI. We don't like that the school is making him pay for their health insurance while he isn't taking classes. He has deferred until the fall semester and we are currently living in Kansas until September so he can't even use the insurance he is paying for. They told us we have until June 12th to turn in a waiver so we are hoping to find insurance soon :) any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  Check out yourhealthidaho.org it shows all insurance groups in the state of Idaho. You can create an account browse plans & find the best 1 for your family. I was told the "silver plan" is the the best plan because you have 0 co-pay & 0 deductibles.
