The Heritage Museum in Dayton has a wonderful bookstore, full of books on local history. They also have a library upstairs that is very useful in researching local and family history. Dr. Wayland wrote a number of books on the Valley history, including "Historic Harrisonburg", which is excellent. Another book I would recommend is "My Recollections of Rocktown" by Maria Carr. EDIT I missed Michael's post from yesterday, which contains the same recommendations. I'm sorry for the dupe but the bookstore really is excellent. https://www.facebook.com/hrhsheritagemuseum
