  Fly into Chania with ryanair, Stanstead I think, maybe stay at Pension Theresa, nice website, Blue Beach apts, Akratiri peninsula (on a bus route, 10 miles or so from Chania). head to the South from there to Sougia or other towns on the coast and walk the Samaria Gorge!
