  I have a 13 year old daughter who has never verbally communicated in school. A lot of the research I have done suggests speech therapy...the problem is we live in rural Iowa with one therapist who does not understand SM and does not think she would be able to help since my daughter doesn't speak....my question is, have any of you tried speech therapy to help them begin speaking and has it worked? I am willing to look/travel further outside our area, if it might help.
