  Looking for a Good Haircut (M) I've looked through the old "where can I get my haircut in Anchorage" threads, and I see a lot of recommendations for barbers and trimmer experts. That's not really my style. I usually wait until I'm in Seattle to get my hair cut at Rudy's on Capitol Hill, but I don't get down there often enough to keep things looking anywhere near clean. Can anyone recommend a place where a guy can get a nice styled haircut? I'm not concerned with price, and I'm not looking to get shapes carved into the side or anything. I just want to avoid the "dorky dad haircut" I'm afraid I'll end up with at a more generic place...

  Check out [Salon Ivy](http://salonivy.com/) in downtown. I've been in the same boat since moving back to AK last year. After being scalped by several places around town, it was a relief to finally find a place where you can get an excellent cut by someone that actually knows how to use scissors, not just electric clippers. The location is kind of quirky as it's in an old downtown house, but it's a pretty cool environment with great service.

  Both Salon Ivy and Escape Salon are great choices. I use Salon Ivy for myself, I see a lot of men come and go looking great there; my husband uses Escape Salon and generally likes it enough to keep going back.

  Looking for a premier hair salon in the area (ANC to Wasilla). Allure in Anchorage does not have consistently good reviews. I'd like to avoid Great Clips type of places, I already have a stylist in the $40 range but I am really looking for someone with a higher skill level.   Brian Rowcroft Ivy owner of Salon Ivy 907-278-7895 he has done my hair for 8 years and did the hair for my wedding..... I cannot say enough good things about him. They are on the corner of 6 th and Cordova in Anchorage.
