About us
This page was started and dedicated to our dear Gwenie . Gwenie was discovered in Morano Valley Animal Shelter in California. She was obese, covered in years of dirt, being held in a kennel much too small for her, and had no hope for the future.
Gwenie was an owner surrender at the shelter on 3/23/13. After 399 shares, and 133 comments on Facebook DACHSHUND RESCUE TEAM was contacted, and we rescued her on 3/26/13.
After spending her first night of freedom in California, she was transported by ground, to Washington State, where her transport was met and she was then brought to Canada, to begin her new life .
Gwenie started out at 40 lbs and it been a long journey , after two tumors have been removed Gwenie is now 23 lbs and still losing weight .
We are thrilled to have all of YOU following along with Gwenie's journey .
