  ****NEED ADVISE**** After 7 months of dr visits and unexplained 104 fevers that would only go away a week at a time and overall sick feeling, we finally found out yesterday my 9 yr old has lyme and that's why she's been so sick. 1 day into medicine and she's in so much pain She can't stop crying and can't move her neck. Her pain is all in her neck. Called dr but they said there's nothing they can do. Gotta take its course. Easier said then done when it's not your child...it's sickening to hear and watch and not be able to help, so I wanted to ask the community if anyone has this or know anyone and what they did. Or anything I can buy to stop the joint pain at her age. Or any recommendations as to a different kind of dr other than basic pediactric dr. Thanks so much!

  Take her to UVA ER and get her taken care of. When you are done with that change her pediatrician. I drive from Front Royal to Warrenton to go to Piedmont Pediatrics, they are great. Dr Jakuum is by far my favorite. 540 347-9900 I hope she gets better soon!

  Do you have a Lyme literate Doctor? A lot of peds are not versed in the new treatment for Lymes. Dr Jakum at Piedmont Pediatrics is a great Lyme literate Doctor who has given talks at Fauquier Hospital. I highly recommend you get another opinion as undiagnosed Lyme can cause irreversible damage and you need to seek out the best treatment options available.

  Dr Jakum at Piedmont Pedaitrics (540)347-9900 He was great with my kids. He is still my 16 year old sons primary care doctor.

  I love love love Dr. Bovee at piedmont pediatrics, she is wonderful and Harlen loves her!! She really gets to know her patients and she has even called the house to check on Harlen!!
