I had a horrible experience with Desert Eagle Stone. Home Depot in Greeley, CO. (not thrilled with them either, but the reasons for that will be in their review) sub contracted Desert Eagle Stone to install my quartz countertops. Measurements, finalizing the layout (added a new breakfast bar) and ordering the quartz all went pretty smoothly. The troubles came during the installation. Desert Eagle Stone sent out two of the most dishonest and shady men I've ever come across when home remodeling. I paid to have my old countertops removed, so they started by doing that. I was told, before they arrived, that the kitchen sink and gas cooktop needed to be disconnected (which was done). That is ALL Desert Eagle Stone (installation scheduler) said they needed done before starting. Here's where the problems began. They decided to remove my dishwasher, without informing me or getting my permission beforehand, so they could get under the old countertop and kick it out from below. In the process of doing this...they scratched my wood floors and broke some dishes that were inside the machine. Not only did they break the dishes, they then tried to conceal that fact by gathering up the pieces and taking them when they left. If I hadn't found a few small pieces of my coffee mug, inside the bottom of the dishwasher, I would have never known what happened to it. This shady act alone pisses me off. I was raised to be honest with folks, so if I broke something (WHILE IN SOMEONE'S HOME) I would inform them of that. The idea that they purposely tried to hide it from me...is absolutely unacceptable in my book. It puts into question everything that these two employees might do in someone's home, if left unattended. At the very least, it shows that they are dishonest human beings. Which is exactly the kind of people you don't want in your home. At least I don't anyway! More on this later. Like I said earlier, I put in a new breakfast bar. Desert Eagle Stone & Home Depot (Greeley, CO) told me that it would need support bars for added support/to prevent cracking. The expanse was 20 inches, so that's an inch over the limit (I was told) that a quartz countertop could be without additional support. Of course, that comes with an additional fee...so I paid it and told them to go ahead and add the support bars. When the installers got to the point of putting the breakfast bar in...they said it didn't need the supports. I told them that I was told it did, that I paid for them, and that they would be putting them in. They said they couldn't because they didn't have the correct tool to do so. Mind you, he had just told me (a few minutes before) that he's been in the counter-installation business for over 14 years. Yet, he didn't have the tool to put the bars in for the countertop? He said that he had never seen the kind of support bars that were being used on my breakfast bar, and that he didn't feel they were necessary. To make a long story short--he just didn't want to mess with it. He ended up putting the 3 support bars in, after Desert Eagle Stone (I called Home Depot to complain & they called Desert Eagle Stone) told him (on the phone) to install them. He told them he didn't have the tool he needed...and they told him to go buy one, and to do the job the way it was laid out on the plans. When he got off the phone he told me he wasn't going to buy the tool and ended up having a friend bring him one. After wasting about an hour+ of my time--the support bars were installed as planned. The real mess came when I ran my dishwasher a day later. When the installers hooked it back up, they didn't tighten the hose very well and water leaked all over my hardwood floors. The floors have now buckled and no one wants to take responsibility for it. Desert Eagle Stone told both Home Depot and I...that their installer said he didn't remove the dishwasher. Another lie, of course, because I saw him do it with my own eyes. Home Depot is giving me the run around too. It's a complete mess that was caused by the incompetency of Desert Eagle's installers . Desert Eagle actually had the nerve to send the same men to my home, when I asked them to fix an uneven corner on my countertop. I told the installer, when he called to let me know he was on the way, that if he was the same guy who installed my counters--not to bother coming out. I wasn't going to let them back in my home! He said he wasn't the same guy and hung up. 10 minutes later...the same two liars are standing at my door. I said, "Are you kidding me? I told you that you weren't allowed in my house again." I sent them away. I will NEVER use Desert Eagle Stone again. They were completely dishonest with me, and their incompetence has cost me time and money. They have accepted ZERO responsibility for the damage their employees caused to my home/belongings. Save yourself the trouble I've gone through, and find another company to work with. Trust me...I'll be doing the same.
