About us
I have had a long love of photography and capturing those special moments in my friends' and family's lives. I have always enjoyed showing up at children's birthday parties to allow the parents to share in that moment with their children. So many times in our lives, the parents are left out because they have to act as Mommy and Daddy AND Party Planner AND Photographer.
After receiving my DSLR two years ago, I started having fun while taking creative shots with my family. It's amazing the pictures you can take once you take the camera off the Auto setting! With the help of a lot of encouragement from photographers and friends, I decided to pursue photography a bit more actively this summer. I started to branch out to landscapes a few months ago, and decided that I have a passion for capturing images of God's creation.
People have enjoyed these pictures so much that I have since had the honor of taking pictures for a young couple's first anniversary pictures, an Air Force Family Deployment Day, and a mother's first set of pictures with her newborn. These new experiences have added a personal touch to the work I have already been doing while volunteering for Jr League events, the Hill Officer Spouses' Group, and the 729th Air Control Squadron.
I decided to launch my Shelby Leigh Photography Facebook page as a creative outlet for me to further explore my talent as a photographer and also to share with others the special moments that I capture.
