Operation Welcome Home provides a common meeting place at Mylan Park for Veterans to congregate, share what’s on their mind, form bonds and simply relax with other Veterans who understand their trials and triumphs. Ultimately, Operation Welcome Home will serve Veterans with an individualized employment plan that will help in their transition to civilian life!

They work for Operation Welcome Home at Mylan Park and come here every couple of week to do all of my outside work (weed-eating, pruning trees, cleaning out flower beds, etc. They have cleaned out my gutters twice (last fall and again this spring) and did an great job with everything they do. I highly recommend them for any outside work, plus you help out young veterans. The number to call is 681-212-9264 and ask for Brett Simpson. He manages the programs.

The local Va is not willing to build him a porch and a ramp. I was wondering if you know a Vet agency that could help him. I would be willing to donate some time to help. However, we are located in Morgantown, WV and I can give you some contacts from our area that could help. The VA is not likely to come provide assistance however, your local DAV (Disabled American Veterans) agency should be able to help wherever you are located. My suggestion is that you contact that agency and see what they can do to help. You can find points of contact for your area by searching or "Googling" DAV on the web and it will give you good points of contact for whatever region you are located. They have been very instrumental in helping for these types of problems in our area and I assume they would be in yours as well. If you are located in WV please let me know and I can give you specific names and #'s to call or email. Further, you can email bsimpson@paceenterprises.org and I will reply with the info.
