About us
Soul Food Ministries was founded 16 years ago. The founder's name is Carl Booker. He started this program with only intention of feeding the hungry, in the years that have followed he had started to notice that not only were there hungry people, but there are people who needed clothing, shelter, tents, blankets and much more to survive the elements of being homeless and working poor. He started to acquire donations of all kinds and give them out throughout the community. First, he gained the trust of the homeless guys who lived in the woods, in "tent city", by going and giving bagged lunches to them and much other needed items. People started to come to him for food and guidance asking him questions and for his help. Soul Food has grown into what it is today by giving out one bagged lunch. Not only do we feed people physically, we feed them spiritually. We are here to also build the kingdom of Heaven. We are doing that by winning one soul at a time. Volunteers and churches have joined Soul Food and help not only with our weekly Wednesday feedings, but now we have grown to every Friday plus the fourth Monday of the month. God has made Soul Food into what it is today, but with out the help and the love of all of the volunteers and the churches and the individual people who help behind the scenes Soul Food would not be flourishing the way it is today.
