  John I. wrote: Sadly, after many years using Thompsons I will not be using or recommending them again. This is a shame because I have been happy with the service, they provide but I recently had a visit for a boiler problem which with no exaggeration the engineer fixed in 30 seconds without removing the cover, for which they charged me £90. I pointed out that I thought this was worthy of reconsideration considering the circumstances, however Thompsons after some consultation would not lower the charge. Thompsons argued that the engineer had been on site for 40 minutes (true but on the phone discussing the issue) and that I had signed the terms and conditions (again true) none of this is in dispute, I merely asked for some discretion on this one occasion , sadly not to be. And so not a company I wish to continue a relationship with.
