Until the site goes live, I do not need "five nines" uptime. I prefer the provider not be in Taxachusetts. Jerry? Josh? Kevin? Harold? Suggestions?

  My preferred host is Zernebok.com. If they don't have a package that suits you, contact them and tell them what you're looking for. Servers located in Canada, Scotland and England.

Or, more accurately, the server configs at those price levels are ridiculous: 128MB RAM allocation to a VPS? 128MB? Really?! I decided to give cPanel a miss. The reason I wanted cPanel was to be able to let other people do some light administration (email addresses, etc) through a UI. I will probably just go bare RHEL/CentOS and install webmin or other web-based configurator for some of the light-duty stuff. I don't like how cPanel fucks with nonstandard bind (dns) and apache configurations anyhow (I have to deal with that pain on a daily basis). I understand /why/ they did it, but /how/ they did it makes it suck. Great idea, shitty implementation.
