About us
~ A little about us, and what we do & why we do it~
We try to educate children (& adults sometimes) about animals.
I take any unwanted, abused or hurt animals and give them another chance at life.
We start by introducing ourselves as “Farmer” Joy & children (I have 4 children) who travel with me (outside of school hours) and then I explain how I am the adopted “mommy” to all the animals and my only two rules are: No running & No yelling.
Then on to the each animal’s name usually starting with the smallest one first. I tell the children to guess what kind of animal is this?” and “what sound does it makes?” and “does it have feathers or hair?” then I tell them any special needs that animals may have and how it came to my farm and sometimes some small educational information.
The teacher or children may bring apples, bread, or carrots to feed the animals during before or after their group comes to visit.
At my farm most of the animals roam around or free -range on the property and they are only in a pen at evening to protect them from outside predators and to feed on any special diet needs they may have. It is not fancy but it is clean and safe.
I have been blessed to share my animals for the past 21 years with many organizations, schools, senior homes, malls, parades, co-op’s, churches and pet fair events and many others.
I tend to all the animals needs such as broken limbs, stitches, small surgery’s, wound skin replacement, Band-Aid wraps or just plain attention, and I am lucky they allow me to feed, medicate and groom each of them. It is a amazing bond.
My business is a not-for-profit organization, all monies go back to benefit the animals.
I take any donations (and are appreciated) of food or bedding for the animals.
We accept all donations from cat food to grain, corn, sweet feed, any broken bags from the feed stores, straw, grass, alfalfa, wood shavings, and any old towels or blankets.

Dana K. replied:I found "2 nd Chance Ranch". Farm (509) 893-9246 or mobile (509) 844-3702. They haven't had any activity on their facebook page for a couple months, but it's worth calling them. At the very least, they can give you a number of someone else that rents ponies.
