I called this plumber because I had a leak on the 2nd level coming from the bathroom through my ceiling in the kitchen. Steve showed up and found the leak after cutting through my ceiling. It was the plumbing in the shower. He cut away some pipe and replaced it with new, installed a new handle, faucet and shower head. It took him a long time as he got the hot and cold water reversed, then had to go shopping for a part. He charged me for 3 hours of work at cost of over $660. He left and scheduled a return the next day as a part for the handle was damaged. After he left we decided to run the shower to check his work and noticed the faucet had quite a drip while operating the shower. It was a lot of water going straight down the drain. When he returned the following day I mentioned the leaky faucet. He seemed annoyed that I complained about the faucet and said that some dripping is normal. It wasn't just a little drip and I queried him some more and he replied that in the time it took me to complain about it he could have had it replaced and on his way. What?! Wow! Ok, fine, thought we were done. Nope! I noticed the shower head had a fine mist of water spraying from where it was attached and it was soaking the wall. I didn't have time to mess with it so hung a washcloth over the spray so it wouldn't destroy my wall. Lo and behold, a few days later the leak was back. It was caused by the improper installation of the showerhead. The leak from the showerhead dripped down the shower wall and behind the overflow cap and creating yet another mess in my kitchen. Steve denied that it was his insufficient work and charged me another $70, bringing the total cost to over $730. What should have been a 2 hour job costing approximately $380 was a 3.5 hour job. He lacks attention to detail. He doesn't inspect his own work and he gets an attitude when his work gets complaints. Finally, I feel that he should have cut my ceiling open as a last resort. He could have inspected the shower by pulling off the handle cover before creating a whole renovation project for me.
