  So to avoid a root canal my dentist put a crown on my tooth last week. He didn't mention that something could go wrong and might lead to a root canal. That being said, anybody have a great dentist that does root canals for a good price?

  Dr. Eric Davis. (919) 806-8060. I had the same exact thing happen. Got a crown and then needed a root canal. They went through the crown and it actually didn't hurt as much as the crown did
