Spring forward, March 2015.
As a small child growing up, my parents owned a bakery and in my teen years, I was able to help my mom frost all sorts of cakes, assemble them, and decorate them. They no longer have a bakery but I always loved to bake but never really knew how much I wanted to do it till the past few years. I challenged myself to make my first fondant cake and it was for my good friend's son's 2nd birthday. It was a Nemo themed cake. That was in 2013! I amazed myself that I actually could do it! Then I would make cakes for family and friends and always got questioned if I was going to open up my own business or they'd tell me that I should sell my cakes and sweets. I am a full time mom and wife that enjoys making cakes with a part-time job at an elementary school. :)
Thanks to all my friends and family who kept asking when I'll be open for business, I am now "springing forward" to the next chapter of my baking. Here it is.... Deanna's Cakery and Sweets!
I want everyone to be able to celebrate an occasion with something special that is affordable. I make all my cakes and sweets from scratch. I also make my own fondant from marshmallows so it tastes really good unlike the store bought fondant. I hope I can have the honor of making you something soon! <3
