  I'm fairly new to West Lafayette and do not know any mechanics in the area. I am looking for recommendations for someone or a shop to get an inexpensive 2nd opinion on a mechanical problem for a 2006 Toyota Highlander. I just bought the car from a Bob Rohrman's used lot and was told it had been fully serviced and had no mechanical problems. Within a week the check engine light came on and then the VSC and Traction controls shut off. The Bob Rohrman Toyota service said it is the catalytic converter and will cost $1400 to replace and their used car manager said they won't do anything about it, used cars are sold As Is and I'm stuck with the car and the cost of repairs.
