About us

My name is Alena Budris, and I am a Professional Newborn Photographer located in Provo, Utah. I started photography about two and a half years ago, and have always loved photographing newborns and older children since I was a small child. It makes me so happy to be able to capture the pure innocence of a beautiful small person and watch them grow through my lens and be able to give parents and family members that memory for a lifetime of their precious child. I think having great quality images of your child is so important because you can never go back and retake those images as your child grows.

I think its very important to choose a professional Newborn photographer who specializes in newborn/ baby photography because they work with newborns on a regular basis like myself and have so much experience with newborns.

The best time to have newborn pictures taken is before your baby is around 10 days old. The biggest reason is because after this time, your newborn is more wide awake, alert and sometimes more fussy. If your newborn isn't sleepy for the session, then its much harder to get them posed in buckets, baskets, or even on a blanket without them waking up and flapping their little hands all over the place which will also make them fussy. Under nine days old, they are also still very bendy from being curled up in your womb for so long, so its easier to curl them up in props, baskets, on blankets, etc...

Professional photographers understand how to capture that perfect image through composites if need be and put your child's safety first before anything. Composites are images taken with an assistant spotting your child, and never takes their hands off your child when photographing them in buckets, or propped up, then the assistants hands are photoshopped out via editing.

When choosing a photographer, always be sure that they practice safety when photographing your newborn or older baby. If a photographer ever tries to pose your child in a bucket, or head propped up... show more
on their own without an assistant or support you need to find another photographer because a photo is never more important than your child's safety.

Every Professional Photographer should practice safety, and have an assistant spotting at all times when baby is being posed in buckets, or posed with their hands holding up their head, etc...
