  URGENT: Please I need some advice. I have a senior maltese who is ill. She has had some diarrhea yesterday and this am (but none lately). Today she has just stayed in her bed. I offered her water, but she didn't drink so I finally just gave her some from a syringe. I took her outside and she did pee but she sat down to rest 3 times on the way back in over less than 10 feet. Now she is breathing hard. This am I checked her gums and they were a deep red. Now her gums and tongue are very pale. I gave her some pepto bismol around 3:30 hoping that if her tummy felt better she would be less lethargic, but no luck. My husband doesn't think I should take her to the emergency vet. Is there anyone on here with some vet experience? Should I take her?
