About us
At Isla and Friends Family Day Care your child will have the opportunity to explore both inside and outside learning environments. I will plan for each child’s learning around their interests and their own specific needs, as well as take each opportunity as a teachable moment. The National Quality Standards, the Early Years Learning Framework and the Building Waterfalls Curriculum will guide this teaching and learning. Your child will learn and play alongside others in play dough, art and craft experiences, music, dance and role play, construction activities, obstacle courses, water and sand pit play and information technology experiences. This quality learning environment will provide opportunities for children to reach their potential, in all areas of their development: physical health and wellbeing, social, emotional, language, cognitive, and spiritual.
As a mother and an educator I recognise that the family is the child’s first and most important teacher. I endeavor to be the partner in your child’s leaning; encouraging their social and emotional wellbeing, understanding of their world and developing their literacy and mathematical learning.
I embrace cultural diversity, respecting family’s diverse values, beliefs, cultural backgrounds, traditions, life experiences and knowledge. Families are encouraged to share their culture, language and experiences with me to build a welcoming and inclusive environment.
At Isla and Friends Family Day Care I will facilitate a flexible and high quality run program. Your child will be supported in their daily habits of meal times, sleeping, personal hygiene and I will reinforce your child’s home toileting routines; all the necessary and basic skills needed for everyday; as well as skills that will prepare them for beginning school and beyond.
