About us

False eyelashes were first invented back in 1916. Almost 100 years ago! The thought was conjured up by the director of the film "Intolerance" because he wanted the leading actress to have a look larger than life. They were made by using cuttings from a wig and gluing them to the actresses eyelids. They've come a long way since then!

Eyelash extensions have become increasingly popular among women of today. They started out being somewhat of an expensive novelty but in their popularity have become more affordable than ever. They have proven to be a fabulous way to enhance a woman's natural beauty without being overpowering. If done properly they will leave people thinking that the bearer is looking "more beautiful than usual" without being able to pinpoint the reason!

Applying eyelash extensions, also known as eyelash "grafting" is a very precise art wherein the artist isolates a single eyelash and glues a silk, mink or synthetic eyelash to the clients own lash. This process takes approximately 60-90 min. The results are seen immediately and on average lasts between 2-6 weeks.

There are several factors which will determine the life of your eyelash extensions. Lifestyle, the skin condition of the client (ie: the natural level of oils in the skin), makeup application, application of cleansers and/or lotions applied to the face which may come in contact with the lashes. Foreign products and oily substances will aid in breaking down the glue used to apply the lashes. Heavy tear production and excessive eye rubbing will also cause the glue to weaken and the lashes to fall out more quickly.

Each lash material has its different pros and cons. Synthetic lashes are made different types of man made fibers and have a sort of "plasticky" feel to them although it is a superfine plasticky feel. They are the most unnatural feeling type of lashes but very durable. They are usually so thick looking that you may find the need to wear mascara a thing of the past. Silk eyelashes are finer... show more
in appearance and softer to the touch. Being very soft and flexible, they feel much more natural than the synthetic lash. Mink are the most luxurious. They are also the most expensive lash to have applied as they usually take about 1/3 longer to apply and the lashes themselves cost more.

Whichever lash fiber you choose to go with, make sure you go to a certified Eyelash Technician who has been properly trained and knows the proper application techniques. You only have one set of eyes! Here at Lash Be Lush I pride myself on perfection. My goal is for every client to walk away happy and feeling better than they did when they leave than when they first enter my salon. I run my own professional eyelash artistry business from my home in Buderim but am also mobile which means I will come to YOU! show more
