Our current places we like: Kabuki, Monta noodle house, Herbs and Rye, Black Bear diner, Rollin Smoke, Lucilles, Nine Fine Irishman, the chain places like BJ's and TGI Fridays, etc. We like BBQ, Asian, Mexican, and American. We've been to the Golden Steer (after winning at the tables, very expensive. Food was great but can't afford it), and the Heart Attack Grill (food was meh). Any suggestions would be awesome. Edit: live music is definitely a plus for us. Edit 2: no seafood.

Lois M. replied:James, I have found that the best deals are usually the first week or two in June (which explains our early vacations) because rates start increasing as the season goes on. We like to go to New England in early June because of lower rates. If you go south the higher rates obviously kick in even earlier. We always try to find accommodations that include at least a small kitchen. You might pay more for the room but you can save a lot of money if you can prepare some simple meals. That leaves more money for activities (like amusement parks). We also like places like Williamsburg because they offer the amusement/water parks as well as the history of colonial town. We like to just walk around the town, etc., for free and enjoy the history (without sitting still for Jeremiah). We then spend our money on Water Country USA (not quite as expensive as Busch Gardens). Most parks allow you to pack a lunch and eat in your car or somewhere in the park. The only problem with a water park is the cost of a locker which we find is usually necessary. Jamestown and Yorktowne are also nearby. You can also look for Living Social, Groupon, or Restaurant.com deals in an area you will be traveling. Son't forget to check out the Chamber of Commerce site for an area, too. You can also "google' discounted amusement park rates or deals . . . they are often available. Also, consider what you will do if it rains. Is an indoor pool an option? That can be "free" fund for the whole family if Jeremiah enjoys the water. Honestly, the best thing to do is to plan way ahead - although occasionally you can stumble on a last minute deal, too. Also, for the future, you could consider sharing the rent of a cottage/house with another small family. A lot of places are set up in a way that makes that work, too. Can you tell that I love to plan trips? Have fun!

We purchased a few different restaurant.com coupons specifically to try out new places (We have already tried several different ones as part of the WF Cougars $20 restaurant card.) I didn't post anything here because there were several other restaurant issues going on. I did find the local ratings website and left appropriate comments. I will contact restaurant.com and let them know that the business refused to accept it. It is possible that the place was sold. Note that when you buy a businesses assets (name, reputation), you also buy its debts. It was really poor customer service and i definitely won't go back or recommend them. The place was empty (it was on a Thurs evening).

They have no expiration dates. But Restaurant.com will gladly allow you to exchange your certificate for another one without any hassle involved. Nice company, good people.
