  Big Al's & Smokey's Shack on the top tier. Then most of the rest. Smithfield's is the "McDonalds" of barbecue. They bake theirs in an electric oven. Blasphemy :) . The Pit used to be on the top tier, and still is on some days. They're a little stingy on the wood these days. If you're cruising west on I-85, Hillsborough BBQ Company is worth pulling off the exit for a couple of miles.
