Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
After moving from Port McNeill where we lived for 23 years, we decided to start the company when we heard there was a real need for electrical contractors in the Alberni Valley. We started out small, working out of our garage and kitchen but have grown to include 4 electricians on the crew and 2 support staff. Still work out of our home, but we like to keep things simple.
Describe a typical work day for you?
We leave the house by 7:50 most days to be on site by 8 am where we begin our day. Whether it's a service upgrade, home renovation, office space, we strive to be on time and get the job done. After finishing the jobs assigned for the day, Brad does site visits to meet new clients and discuss their needs. Once the day's work out in the field is done, there's paperwork and phone calls to be made after hours. Days are long but in the end, if the client is happy, so are we.
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
Giving customers exactly what they want and getting positive feedback at the end of the process. People spend a lot of time planning their home renovations, we like to make the process as easy and reasonably priced as possible.
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
We've been in the customer service work for many years, and as such we strive to ensure that we put in an honest days work, show the client's home the same respect we would our own and make sure we meet or exceed their expectations by being on time and withing budget
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
Walked into a place once, and the toilet paper dispenser was electrified. Every time someone would sit on the toilet and their foot would touch the register, they'd get a shock from the toilet paper dispenser. Turns out when they put the dispenser in, they'd screwed into the dryer wiring behind the wall.
