Notice for Parents, Guardians and Carers

1) Children must have permission to be painted and be accompanied by an adult at all times. This includes while standing in the queue or while the child is being painted.

2) The face paints that we use have been designed for professional use and comply with all the EEC cosmetic regulations. As with any cosmetics some people may develop sensitivity to one of the ingredients. Some children are allergic to a wide range of common products. If you have any concerns about your child's reaction to face paints please discuss them with the face painter before your child is painted.

3) It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to report any skin sensitivities or allergies so that a skin test can be carried out on the inside of the child’s arm before any face paint is applied. We will, however, not be liable for any adverse reaction to paints.

4) We reserve the right to refuse to paint the face of any person who appears unwell or with medical conditions such as, eczema or psoriasis, but not limited to, cold sores, open wounds, broken skin, conjunctivitis or other eye infections, runny nose, infected skin, headlice. In these circumstances we are able to paint, at the artists' discretion, the arm or hand of that person.

5) We will paint at the artists' discretion the face of children who in the artist’s opinion are under 3 years of age, or unlikely to sit to be painted. However, in these cases the arm or hand may be painted upon request.

6) We will not paint any person (regardless of age) against their wishes – including sleeping children. If a child decides while painting that they no longer want to be painting;... show more
we will not continue.

7) We will not paint anything that the artist deems to be offensive, obscene and/or inappropriate for the event or group.

8) We practice good hygiene and use only one clean sponge per face (always washed at 95 degrees) and brushes are cleaned regularly throughout each event. All equipment is cleaned thoroughly after each event. To ensure that health and hygiene standards are maintained, we ask that our products remain untouched by anyone other than myself.

9) Water-based make-up can be removed easily by washing with soap or baby shampoo and plenty of water - take care around the eyes as soap can sting! Some colours may temporarily stain slightly if the skin is dry - your usual baby lotion after washing may help to remove this. Clothes that have been in contact with face paint should be soaked in cold water before washing normally. However, we will not be held liable for any damage to clothing or property.

10) Permission must always be given for painting to take place on each child, and it is therefore the responsibility of the organiser of a private party to gain consent from the guests parents or guardians prior to the party.
