  I'm a fan of my dentist, [Dr. Sutton on the plaza](https://www.briansuttondds.com/). They are very good and very sensitive with people who have anxiety about going to the dentist. They also have TVs to watch while you get your teeth cleaned (or during a root canal). In my experience, the cleanings are painful because they have to scrape off plaque that often grows below the gum line, and they have to be at least a little bit aggressive with the floss to also go below the gum line. That said, I don't experience much pain with my tooth cleanings at their office. Definitely give them a look!

  Dr Sutton at Family Dentistry is a bit out if that range, on 46 th and Main, next to Cafe Trio, but as someone with a lifelong dentist phobia I can honestly say that he and his staff are amazing. It's the only place I've been comfortable in 20+ years. Kind, affordable, and fast. 816-931-2342
