Happy Hounds
About us
I have set up Happy Hounds due to my lifelong love of animals and the great outdoors. I have six dogs of my own.. Alfie and Rufus (the Spaniels) Merlin and Kiera (Saluki x Greyhounds), Rocket (Whippet) and Oscar (Standard Poodle cross). I commonly also have a foster dog in my care as I aim to help out the rescues as much as I am able to. I am obviously a keen walker with my favourite walking areas being the Forest of Dean, Bredon Hill and Cleeve Hill. I also love the Cotswold Way routes and completed the whole path with the spaniels and a tent to raise money last year.
All the dogs, whether walking or boarding, will be treated as if they are my own and I only use positive reward based training. I will also endeavour to implement any training that you are undertaking to allow for consistency. Pictures from walks will be posted on this page so you can see what your dog gets up to!
Despite being insured (through Cliverton) to walk up to 6 dogs, I will not walk more than 4 or 5 at a time. This is because it is important to be able to give your dog the individual attention required and keep an eye on them if off the lead! I only walk dogs off the lead with owners consent and only when I feel confident they have good recall with me. I am canine first aid trained through Animal Aiders.
I will collect and drop off your dog in a Citroen Dispatch which I have fitted out with individual dog crates for their safety. Travelling time will not be included in the walk time so the dogs can have the maximum amount of exercise. Before entering your home I will dry your dog if needed and make sure they are clean as I respect the cleanliness of your house. Naturally, I will ensure they have fresh water and can give them a meal if you would like.
Overall, I will ensure your dog gets the exercise, love and stimulation they all require and they are happy and worn out when returned!
