  Also not east end, but [Advanced Autowerks](http://www.advancedautowerks.ca/) specializes in VW and Audi. I've been going to them for the past 15 years (2 VWs, 1 Audi) and they're amazing.

  Any mechanic can fix this. The wiring to the door can get chaffed and short out where the wires flex when opening the door. The wires need to be fixed and likely a fuse replaced. Advanced Autowerks are great VW/Audi mechanics but not East end.

  Advanced Autowerks on Bentley...near Merivale and Hunt Club. They are really good VW mechanics. 613-727-1432. I have been using them for years.
