  • WhoDoYou Review from April 25, 2015
I have been a wedding coordinator for over 8 years and in that time have worked with countless vendors and photographers. However, in all that time I have never had an experience with any vendor that went as badly as my experience with GrassArt Photography. I feel a responsibility to warn anyone considering their services to look elsewhere for a photographer. I rarely give a bad review, I understand that each event has issues and vendors have bad days, but in this instance the level of ineptitude was so extreme that I cannot stand by and let this happen to another couple on their wedding day. After the wedding, the bride stayed in regular contact asking for preview photos and then anything with the bride and groom for Thank You notes. After several months, all she received was 5 photos that still were not what the bride was asking for. Finally towards the end of the year the photographer finally started to communicate the issues she was having in getting the wedding photos to the bride and groom. Her claim is that there were computer issues and both her computer and external hard drive were corrupted and made useless, that she went through an extensive recovery process but nothing could be recovered. So in the end, all she had to offer was a refund and the 5 photos that were already sent to the bride. The wedding was on 8/1/14 but we did not get a final definitive answer from the photographer that the photos will absolutely not be recoverable until 4/24/15. The bride and groom have been put through the ringer, between the emotional stress of not knowing and then realizing they have nothing to show for their wedding day memories except candid photos from their guests iPhones. Refunding the contract money goes without saying, but what can a bride and groom do when they have no photos from their wedding day? I have recommended that the bride and groom take legal action on this and my hope is that they do. They have already done this to 4+ couples and they should not be allowed to do this to anyone else.
