  Montrose Rec Center 970 249-7705 Mountain Bike Skills Laurie Brandt, a former Professional Mountain Bike Racer, will teach this clinic, full of techniques that allow the rider to 'finesse' the bike on the trail. You'll learn how to use body English and understand the dynamics of weight distribution and bike movement. Participants start on grass, practicing balance, slow speed control, braking, 'riding like a cat', and falling safely. Then you will then advance to nearby trails to apply you new techniques and skills. Bring a snack, fluids, spare tube, pump, helmet, riding clothes, and a jacket. Coed Beginners to Intermediate Dates: Sunday, June 14 (#7662) Women Only Class Date; Sunday, June 28 (#7663) Time: 9:00 am -2:00 pm Fee: $45/rider Registration Deadline: Monday prior to class starting Location: MRD McNeil Office, 1120 Riverbottom Dr. Bike Maintenace Learn how to keep your bike in great working condition and how to fix the typical mechanical problems. Bring your own road or mountain bike and learn how to remove and re-attach wheels, fix flats, true a wheel, fix a dropped chain and much more. Participants should bring a bike; rags; tire levels; spare tube; patch kit; spoke wrench; Allen wrenches size four, five, and six mm; and a small screw driver. This class will be outdoors, so dress for the accordingly.
