About us

The Queensland Highland Dancing Association (QHDA) was dissolved in August 2013. Its assets were transferred to the South Queensland Regional Committee of Highland Dancing Inc. (SQRCHDI).

HISTORIC MATERIAL:

QHDA: To foster Scottish highland dancing in any way practical and encourage competition for all dancers. The only non-studio based Scottish highland dancing organisation maintaining competitions in south-eastern Queensland.

Incorporating the Caledonian Highland Dancing Association ('Callies'), the auxiliary group of the now-defunct Brisbane Caledonian Society and Burns Club (1892--1994).

COME AND JOIN! Membership is $12.50 annually, and enables free entry to all QHDA-organised competitions, as well as a quarterly newsletter. Volunteers at competitions do not need to be members of QHDA.

We always welcome people to help marshall, assist in the kitchen, staff the front door, and more.
