About us

Have you wanted to have a professional massage but weren't quite sure what to expect? Do you keep your clothes on or off? Why do you take any clothing off at all? Hopefully after reading below, you will have a better understanding of the process and feel more at ease about scheduling an appointment. The information listed below is detailing an experience one could expect at Infinity Massage and does not encompass experiences at other salons, spas, or studios.

In the US, people are a bit more timid and shy in regards to their physical appearance and are often times scared to be seen even partially clothed. If you travel abroad, you are likely shocked to see sun bathers bathing nude or swimmers changing into their speedos in the open. It's a matter of culture and acceptance. So, it is no surprise that people are sometimes nervous or even a bit scared to have a professional massage.

Let me take just a minute to explain a few things that may put your mind at ease. We all know there are different types of touch, hugs from family, hand shakes, back rubs and of course sensual touch. A professional massage is intended to meet the clients well being needs. Sure, we've all heard stories about "those" types of salons that push the envelope. Professional massage, in the sense we see it at Infinity, is about comforting, therapeutic, and rejuvenating touch.

So, what can one expect. When you first enter Infinity Massage you will be greeted promptly. We will offer you something to drink and will ask you to have a seat. We have a questionnaire that asks information about your medical history that is pertinent to massage therapy. After completing this, you will have a moment to use the restroom. If you've never had a massage, you may be nervous wondering if you will have an opportunity to relieve yourself beforehand, you will! At this point, the therapist you are scheduled to meet will show you to the room where your session will take place. These rooms are dimly lit... show more
to help maintain a calming atmosphere and it is also comforting to those who are more self-conscious about their physical body. Soft instrumental music is also playing in the background and it's intended purpose is to soothe, calm, and to help you relax. The therapist will go over your medical history and will talk with you about your needs or trouble spots that may require additional therapy. After your medical history has been discussed, the therapist will then give you instructions.

Instructions? There are different massages. Some massages allow for loose fit clothing that is provided, others you remain fully clothed (chair massages), and in some states you can be completely disrobed (unclothed) and no draping (sheets or blankets). In Arkansas, draping is required. In any event, the therapist will tell you to disrobe to your comfort level and will usually ask you to start out face down on the table. Why do they ask you to disrobe at all? The therapist is there to touch your body in a way that accompanies your body's design. Muscles begin and attach at certain points. These points are not coordinated with the latest fashion or jeans or t-shirts. Therapists will work muscles from a starting point to its end depending on the type of massage. It can be done with clothing but the easier it is for them to touch the bare skin, the better the result for the client.

Here's the deal. Our therapists want to care for your needs and they will accommodate your fears and concerns also. If you feel more comfortable with underclothes on, the therapist will give you the highest quality massage at your comfort level.

Will the therapist talk during the session? Perhaps the biggest question, for some, is "Will the guest talk during the session?" For first time guests who are nervous, sometimes they talk the most. That is perfectly fine. Our therapist "will speak when spoken to" and will ask for your feedback into how deep or how light the pressure should be. They will do this in reference to your need for therapy, not their need to talk. The therapist will talk if that's what you need but their primary goal is to help you relax and receive the care you need. So, mum is generally the word unless they are engaged in conversation by our guests.

Will the therapist use oil or lotion, what if I'm allergic? In the pre-session interview, you will have a chance to ask what the therapist uses. If you have any allergies, it should be noted on your health questionnaire and you should talk with the therapist about this at that time.

Male or Female therapist? Without getting into specifics, our bodies respond to touch. Sometimes great emotion comes from physical relaxation and emotional release brings about tears. Some respond to touch very slowly, taking them a while to completely relax. It all depends on the person. Sensual massage is something we do not offer at Infinity Massage. If that is what you are looking for, you should look elsewhere. Having said that, our bodies respond to touch in different ways, some more apparent than others. Should that be the case, it happens. You will be draped and the therapist is there to work on your muscles groups and is not there to touch genital areas. It won't be the first time the therapist has seen it and it won't be the last. That's not the intended purpose of the session but it happens and it's normal for some. In the end, choosing a male or female comes down to comfort level. Again, the purpose, from the therapist's standpoint, is not to generate sensual feelings. Rather, it is to evoke relaxation and calmness. If you require a male or a female to achieve this, we have both male and female therapists here to provide the care you need.

What if I don't like the session I had? Tell us! Communication is key. Our therapists are here for you. They would rather know something that is of concern to you, so it can be corrected or adjusted. We have multiple therapists because we realize that we serve a very diverse community and that requires a diverse group of therapists. If for some reason you aren't satisfied, we will want to know why. It is our wish to make sure you are satisfied, so we will work with you.

What type of massage do I need? Our therapists are continually studying and educating themselves in the field of massage. While they each have particular interests, their primary interests is the guest with whom they are working. They pull from their experience and instruction to meet the needs of their guests. A calm relaxing Swedish Massage may involve Trigger Point if the client voices a desire to have a particular muscle group worked more intensely. The combinations are as unique as the clients. We do offer special massage types and you can certainly ask about which may work best for you.

In the end, the guests' needs are the most important thing. Safety, comfort, and understanding play the biggest role. As we've discussed how the session starts, one might ask, how does the session wrap up. After the session has ended, the therapist will quietly let you know the session is complete. They will let you know you are welcome to lay as long as you wish. The therapist will then leave the room. It isn't uncommon for guests to be very relaxed, to the point that they feel the need to sit a moment before leaving. It depends on the person, their connection to relaxation during the session and also their health. You are welcome to rest a moment longer or get dressed and exit the room. At the front desk, you will be offered water and your therapist will be available for questions regarding aftercare or special discussion regarding your needs for follow up appointments.

Whether you are seasoned or new to massage, the point you should gather from this info is each session is as unique as are the guest and therapist. You should feel safe, comfortable and relaxed.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to call us to inquire! We want to care for you, so let us know of any special concerns you may have!
