I value not being in the Rat Race. I don't feel there is any competition. I do not believe in that word, I believe we are our own individuals with our own purpose in life. Its unfortunate that others try to pull me in, by trying to compete with me or try to hold me back. I consider myself a leader in this industry, I am told stylist out here follow what I do. Recently a former acquaintance opened a salon near me, even though she lives 90 miles away, another salon designed her salon like mine, and one even copied my bridal up-dos in a local bridal magazine spread. I value my peace and space, its unfortunate others do not have respect for that. I will continue not being in the competition, I am not in this industry to one up another, or afraid someone is going to have more business than me, all that is irrelevant to me. It is not the culture of the hair industry anyway, it's the Reality T.V. version of the industry.

I am a native of New Orleans, descendant of King Louis Philippe. My family is one of the oldest creole families of New Orleans dating back to late 1700s. I was born to do hair and makeup, it is all I have been interested in since my earliest memory. It runs in my family too.

I do it all, paperwork, inventory, marketing & pr, hair/makeup, front desk, clean, etc, I am non-stop.

I draw everything from within. I follow my heart and connect with others. My guest inspire me to go over and beyond, to do my very best that I can for them.

I like to go home in peace, that is my true reward. If I don't give my best, I can't deal, it will bother me for days. I strive to make sure the guest is happy, and I always ask if I feel they aren't comfortable with something and I fix it. People are generally comfortable with being open and honest with me, they know it won't offend me, so we get it right together.

Everyday is a new memorable experience on the job, its always new and exciting...I can't pick just one!
