Deputy Court Clerk, Job #545 Job Requirements City of Friendswood Deputy Court Clerk Job # 545 The City of Friendswood is accepting applications for a part-time Deputy Court Clerk, Job #545, in the City’s Court office. The pay range is from $15.3514 to $22.4808 hourly, DOQ. This purpose of this position is to provide a variety of clerical duties related to the procedures, laws and record keeping tasks of a Municipal Court. DUTIES: Preforms common customer service functions for walk-in and phone customers, as directed. Computer data entry of Class C misdemeanor charges filed in Municipal Court. Maintain and update all records on computer and case files. Process payments of Class C misdemeanor cases, Manage payment schedule for defendants granted time payments. Prepare docket or calendar of cases to be called. Secure information for judge, contact witnesses, attorneys, and litigants to obtain information for court settings. Prepare, select and summons jury as required for court hearings. Review and respond to request for information under Rule 12 of the Judicial Code. Answer phone inquiries regarding cases, payments, and policies for court. Process credit card payments over the phone. Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail. Collects, seals, and stamps outgoing mail. Ability to deal with hostile citizens and/or emotionally charged consumers. Other duties may be assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED, some college preferred. Level I Court Clerk Certification within 2 years of hire, Ability to obtain and maintain SETCIC (Southeast Texas Crime Information Center) certification. One to three years in related field.
