Mass Ave Knit Shop (now in Fountain Square) offers learn-to-knit sessions. not sure if they're formal classes, but I know you can drop in just about any time and find someone hanging out knitting who would be happy to get you started. 862 Virginia Ave.

The group Irvington Fiberistas meet every 1 st and 3 rd Wednesday from 6-8 at the Irvington Branch Library. It's a casual gathering for knitters, crochers, sewers, etc. All skill levels are welcome. Bring your project and enjoy some chat time with other crafters. See IMCPL.org for more details.
