Any recommendations for a bright front light around $25ish. I have other lights for visibility, but I can't see the road ahead and it's getting dark earlier!
Thanks!

There are a great many Cree bike lights on Amazon.com. They are quite bright. Some have separate rechargeable battery packs. A backup battery is a good idea. http://www.amazon.com/SUPERNIGHT-TM-Headlight-Rechargeable-Waterproof/dp/B00E91EG0G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1443566773&sr=8-3&keywords=cree+bike+light

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008KUXRAW cheaper version of the same light. Get a whole backup light! That said, it'll take 2-3 weeks to arrive, being shipped from China.
My roommate bought a Lezyne in that price range from The Peddler. I don't know the exact specs on it, but it's bright as shit and USB rechargeable so w/e

Or light of the sun edition of the CREE: http://www.amazon.com/SecurityIng%C2%AE-Headlight-Headlamp-Bicycle-Packaging/dp/B009QX8B2Q/ ( there's also a 5 led version for $35)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SKVG942?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 Take the foam off and unscrew the mount, add epoxy between the light casing and the mount, and rescrew. Otherwise, performs like a light 5-10 x as expensive as per side by side comparison.
After trying several versions of cree lights from Amazon, I prefer the single LED ones because you can then buy (for $5) a replacement lens that turns the 10º circular beam into a 30º by 10º rectangular one, illuminating the full width of the street and reducing the spill upward into the trees (and drivers' eyes). http://www.amazon.com/MagicShine-Gemini-Lights-Headlight-Includes/dp/B004WLCLQY/ref=pd_sim_468_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=03BMFZH76KBP2DDMMRKJ&dpID=51 mTmRxZGiL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_

The Jeep Overland is the one we found a good buy on, but haven't "seen" it yet. The lady selling it sent me a pic with the carrier in it and she uses the other one she has just like it and loves it. You & Marc check it out and let us know. We'll go with what you want (or put money toward if we can't pay for all of it).
Lynda C. replied:
I can totally send you a list. Definitely a carseat. A rock n play was a lifesaver for us and the boppy lounger and moby wrap/sling were for the early months with Liv. I honestly wouldn't recommend going to BRU right away. It can be overwhelming. Grab a Baby 411 book. It was my bible with my first. I would also recommend Baby Earth in RR. They are fantastic, super knowledgeable and have great classes. I can help you with whatever you need.
MaryBeth F. replied:
Check out Amazon.com for something new, too. Their prices are running lower than most other retailers I'm finding. They have the Graco Jogger Travel System with carrier/car seat and pack n Play all for about $400 if you buy as a package. A lot of infant stuff can be bought used, though, because they outgrow it so fast. Verify if what you buy you can upgrade or adj to bigger size easily is advice I'm getting, too. Some convenient things you have to rebuy a bigger size when they outgrow the infant size.
amazon.com has a 15 point checklist of "things most commonly needed" for new moms. If you create a registry it helps you locate all the must haves. They also have an "amazon moms prime" membership that is free for the first year where you get free 2 day shipping and then they have select items that you can subscribe to for shipments at regular intervals (like diapers) and by subscribing to the item, you get an additional discount. You can always cancel the subscription or skip a delivery, but it was especially helpful because I never ran out of diapers/wipes, it was cheaper than buying at the store, and I NEVER HAD TO GO TO THE STORE!!!
We bought a Graco travel system with our first and it broke within a few months. They are a good price but we learned quickly you get what you pay for when it comes to strollers. We bought a Peg Prego stroller and carrier and it lasted through Caleb and 2 more.
Does anyone have any recommendations for air mattresses specializing in good back support?

sleeping on the ground is actually very healthy. I did it for years. Not necessarily healthy for your sex life though. Really, it depends on what your goals are and what part of town you live in. If you're into weightlifting, Metroflex in Pflugerville has some trainers with competitive bodybuilding experience who can teach not just form but what and how much to eat (extremely important, by the way!). They do train with newcomers, and in fact my only cautions would be the potential cost and to pick either Ed Brown or Ivan Meraz. Whichever route you go, I'd book at least four weeks of in-person training if you're just starting out, ideally 12 weeks (this is a few sessions per week, normally). It's so easy to develop bad form that having someone there to correct you will pay dividends years later - especially if you're doing barbell work.

I was where you are just six months and 45 pounds ago. I followed another Redditor's advice and found a nutritionist before I found a trainer. The nutritionist had me journal EVERYTHING I ate for two weeks and then helped me correct the course. The result: 45 pounds lost. Any trainer worth their salt will tell you it's 75% diet. After I got my eating in order then came the walking. 5 miles a day. Every day. Then I started running a little between the miles of walking. Now I walk 3 and run 2. My goal for the end of December is walk 1, run 4. Goals. Set them - meet them - make yourself happy(ier). Oh and MyfitnessPal is a GREAT friggin' app.
